Practical field training for agri-business students at Punjab Agricultural University is indeed more beneficial than classroom-based training, especially when it comes to hands-on experience with issues like aphid attacks on wheat and fall armyworm infestations on maize, as students have direct exposure to real pest challenges.

GFN member Dr. Malwinder Singh Malhi, India, had the opportunity to work with students and farmers in the field, where students gain valuable insights into crop management practices, pest control strategies, irrigation techniques, and harvest procedures—areas that are often not fully addressed in traditional classroom environments. This exposure fosters important skills such as communication and problem-solving; Practical field training helps bridge the gap between theory and practice, ensuring students are well-equipped with both the knowledge and hands-on experience necessary to succeed in the agri-business industry.
