The Global Farmer Network (GFN) successfully completed its annual Roundtable and Communication Training program from June 9–13, 2025, in San José, Costa Rica. The event was held at the Inter-American Institute for Cooperation on Agriculture (IICA).

Led by experienced farmer-members of the GFN, the program focused on enhancing communication skills and fostering dialogue around global agricultural challenges. Thirteen farmers from twelve countries joined the GFN following this year’s program, expanding the network’s global reach and diversity.

These farmers are members of the cohort, selected from more than 220 nominations. Learn more about each by clicking on their name:

A highlight of the event was the signing of a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) between GFN and IICA, marking a new chapter in collaboration to promote sustainable agriculture, technological innovation, and farmer empowerment across the Americas. Read more here.

In the lead-up to and following the in-person event, GFN is also conducting virtual sessions to extend the learning experience. The program is invitation-only and designed specifically with a strong focus on building connections among farmers, enhancing communication skills, and preparing participants to be fully trained and equipped to serve as catalysts for trade, market access, sustainable agriculture, and innovation.

Plans are underway for the next Roundtable and Communication training to be held in 2026. If you are interested in submitting a nomination, please complete this form.
