As we step into 2026, the Global Farmer Network proudly reflects on more than two decades of impact. Founded in 2000 by farmers—and still led by farmers today—our mission remains steadfast: to connect farmers globally and amplify their voices.
From the beginning, we’ve believed that farmers are stronger when they share knowledge, experiences, and solutions across borders. Today, our network spans continents, cultures, and crops, united by a common purpose: ensuring that farmers everywhere have a voice in shaping the future of agriculture.
Introducing the “I Am a Farmer” Series
We’re thrilled to launch the “I Am a Farmer” series. This project is all about reintroducing our members—farmers from every corner of the globe—in their own words. Through their stories, we’ll showcase the incredible diversity, resilience, and innovation that define farming today.
It’s a celebration of the people who feed the world—and a reminder that behind every harvest is a human story.
In tandem with this launch, we are honored to celebrate the International Year of the Woman Farmer. Women play a vital role in agriculture. Their contributions are essential, and their voices deserve to be heard.
We’re kicking off this celebration with an inspiring quote from Alanna Koch of Canada, a leader and advocate for farmers everywhere.
