Join GFN members Cherilyn Jolly-Nagel (Canada), Pacifique Nshimiyimana (Rwanda), Ian Pigott (United Kingdom) and Marcos Guigou (Uruguay) to have a conversation about the challenges farmers face in advocating for their needs and ensuring their voices are heard during elections and policy discussions. Enjoy our farmer-led approach in action, with exceptional voices ready to share their expertise:

  • Pacifique Nshimiyimana, has a bachelor’s degree in biotechnology. He is a farmer and an entrepreneur. He developed a banana farming demonstration farm with 15+ varieties of bananas grown. He trains small farmers and helps market their produce in high-end hotels and restaurants in Kigali.
  • Ian Pigott, farms 1,800 acres of wheat, oilseed rape and oats, just 20 miles from London. The home farm has a classroom as Ian is passionate about teaching children about agriculture. Founding Open Farm Sunday in 2005, in 2017 he started the Pop-Up Farm, a place to share his family’s enthusiasm for farming, education and biodiversity with as many people as possible.
  • Marcos Guigou, grows soybeans, corn, wheat, barley, oats, canola and sorghum. All corn and soy production are GMO. He irrigates 10% of production and is a firm believer in no-till practices. He also has livestock production on natural pastures and is involved in global grain trade.
  • Cherilyn Jolly-Nagel, farms 8,500 acres with her husband, where they produce different grains. They also operate a hunting lodge for migratory birds. Cherilyn is an ag leader who is involved internationally as an advocate and is part of the Board of Directors of the GFN.
  • Don't miss this opportunity to gain insights from farmers that will share from their personal experience as they discuss their hopes for the future.
